Yes folks, Spring is in the air! The sun is shining and the Winter blues are well on the way out. It’s time to brush away the cobwebs and give your website a good old Spring clean! It’s a great way to engage your website visitors and make sure everything is working as it should…
Last year we brought you our 5 easy ways to give your website a spring clean – so here are our tips for 2014.
Freshen up your fonts
Changing the fonts and adding ‘accent’ fonts to your website can give it a whole new lease of life. Try mixing in some hand written fonts, or bold, graphical ones (like this one! =>).
Test your contact form
This one’s really easy… Contact forms, occasionally, stop working. No-one knows why, it’s one of life’s little mysteries, sent to try us… and a broken form can go undetected for a long time.
Add a splash of colour
One of the easiest ways to give your website a little ‘pop’ while maintaining your brand is to add a new accent colour. That could be something as simple as changing the colour of your links and titles or even adding a bright border here and there.
Tidy up the navigation
When your web designer hands over your finished website, everything will be just so… pages and posts in their place and everything looking great. But over time things get added and bolted on. This can leave your navigation cluttered and no very user friendly. Have a look at your content and see if you can organise it logically, making it easier for your users to find.
Use images
OK, we said this one last year, but it’s so important that we want to say it again! Use more images and change them up every so often. If your site uses header image or a slider one the homepage freshen it up with some new images.
You’ll be really surprised at what a difference making one or more of these simple changes will have on your website – so get cracking!
