WordPress version 3.5, named ‘Elvin’, is hot off the presses!
The most noticeable difference is that it has been designed to change the way WordPress users interact with images.
WordPress call their new image uploader ‘a beautifully simple experience’ and it seems that they have listened to what their users have been asking for. No doubt the changes will leave some users frustrated at having to get used to yet another way of doing things, but in the long wrong we think it will save time and energy; particularly when it comes to creating galleries. You can now use drag-and-drop to reorder your images and edit captions on the fly.
This update also comes with a new, responsive Twenty Twelve theme, making creating websites for all devices more simple than ever.
The video below shows an overview of the changes in WordPress 3.5, named Elvin after legendary jazz drummer, Elvin Jones.
Also new in this version are refreshed styles for the dashboard and a new colour picker. The whole admin area has also been updated to look good on high-resolution Retina displays.
